Frequently Asked Questions

Square cards are a matter of personal preference. That’s why we encourage you to think about your card design, your business and your overall branding. When used as a name card, our square shape is especially popular among creative professionals – it gives the idea of a traditional name card an innovative, non-confirming spin, especially when paired with a bold, colourful design.

Not at this time.

In most instances, yes. A standard name card is 91 x 55 mm – our square shape is 65 x 65 mm. They typically fit in pockets and wallets easily, but they will not fit in most standard name card cases.

Yes, two of our paper stocks fit the bill:
Recycled matte paper stock is made from 100% post-consumer recycled paper.
Kraft paper stock is recyclable and compostable.

No. Different paper stocks absorb ink differently, and this may affect how your design looks when it’s printed. We recommend you consider the following when selecting your paper: Is your design dark or light? Does it feature all-over colour or simple lines and text? Then pick the paper that best suits your design and your general style.

Yes. After editing your design in our studio, click on “Next” at the upper right corner of the page. Then, you should get a prompt to change the back of your design.

For 2-sided printing, choose from four design options: duplicate the front of your card, upload a design, start from a blank card or use our template.

For 1-sided printing, select “Continue without Back” at the bottom right corner of the page.

Our brilliant finishes are special upgrades that add more visual interest to your card design. Our spot UV finish applies raised gloss to specific areas of your design. Our metallic finish adds a smooth and shiny accent to the chosen areas of your card. Please note that these finishes can only be added to the front of card designs.

To create engaging and professional square name cards, we recommend you keep the following four tips in mind:

• Use no more than 2 fonts. Too many text styles make a design look less professional and it’s harder to read and understand. Font size matters too. We recommend using a font size above 8 points.

• Make your copy count. You only have a few seconds to get someone’s attention. Make your message simple, clear and easy to read.

• We recommend using an image or logo to elevate your design. Avoid using small images or detailed logos – these will print smaller than what’s displayed on screen.

• Be mindful of colour combinations and thin designs. We recommend choosing complementary colours within your designs. Keep in mind that thin designs may print differently to what appears on screen.
