Why choose soft touch?
Often called ‘velvet’ paper, this finish is all about the tactile experience. While standard matte paper is smooth, soft touch goes a step further by adding a special coating that feels soft and suede-like to the touch. It’s an excellent choice if you want your cards to feel high-end and memorable, especially for luxury or boutique brands where first impressions are everything.
Tips for your design
Refined colours: This coating subtly mutes colours, giving them a sophisticated look. It’s perfect for minimalist or brand-focused designs that favour elegance over high-shine vibrancy.
Extra durability: Beyond the feel, the soft touch coating makes your cards more substantial and provides added resistance to light scuffs and everyday wear.
Writing note: Because of the unique velvety coating, these cards cannot be written on with most standard pens or markers. If you need to add handwritten notes or appointment reminders, our natural textured or recycled matte stocks would be better options.
Comparison to other finishes: If you want maximum shine and ‘pop’, glossy is your best bet. If you want a professional, glare-free look without the velvet feel, go with our standard matte. Soft touch sits at the top as our most tactile, premium matte option.
