Frequently Asked Questions
Different paper stocks best complement certain kinds of designs. Matte paper is an especially good choice if your design features vibrant designs with a lot of ink – the paper absorbs the ink especially well so your design will look rich and bold. If your design uses very crisp, fine lines, you may want to consider another paper stock as fine lines can sometimes bleed.
Our matte cards come in two paper thicknesses – standard (300 gsm) and premium (350 gsm). Each paper thickness features a silk-coated front and back. We typically recommend standard matte cards for high-volume distribution – trade shows, events or package inserts. For more personal, one-on-one interactions, we’d recommend our premium paper.
Yes. When you select our standard card shape, you can choose between crisp, 90-degree corners or 6 mm rounded corners.
For most people, choosing among our shapes – standard, square and slim – is a matter of preference. There are a few things you can consider when picking a card size that matches your business personality. Standard cards (91 x 55 mm) are the traditional and most familiar option that offer a timeless and classic design. Square cards (65 x 65 mm) are fresh and bold. They’re especially popular among creative professionals who want to convey an innovative and edgy style.
Yes. You can choose from our one or two-sided printing options.
Our brilliant finishes can emphasise key details like your contact information or business name. Plus, they make your cards look more interesting. We offer four options:
- Spot UV applies raised gloss to specific areas of your design, creating embossed details.
- Our metallic finish adds a smooth and shiny accent to chosen areas of your card.
- Our gold or silver finishes apply a raised, smooth reflective foil over certain areas of your design.
- Please note that these special finishes can only be added to the front of card designs.
To create engaging and effective matte business cards, we recommend
you keep the following three tips in mind:
• Use no more than 2 fonts. Too many text styles make a design look
less professional and it’s harder to read and understand. Font size
matters too - we recommend using a font size above 8 points.
• Make your copy count. You only have a few seconds to get
someone’s attention. Make your message simple, clear and easy to
read.
• We recommend using an image or logo to elevate your design. Avoid
using small images or detailed logos – these will print smaller than
what’s displayed on screen.
