How to wash & wear face masks

To properly care for and use your masks, we recommend the tips below.

To put on your face mask:

  1. Wash hands with soap, water or hand sanitiser before touching your mask.

To remove your face mask:

  1. Wash hands with soap, water or hand sanitiser before touching your mask.
  2. Reach both hands back to touch your mask’s elastic band. Make sure you do not touch the fabric front of your mask, as it may have become contaminated during use.

  • Wash your mask in hot water (60 degrees Celsius or higher) and use regular detergent.

  • Prevent condensation buildup by regularly changing your mask.
Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can healthcare professionals use these masks against COVID-19? Can they be used in medical settings?
A: No. Our polyester masks are designed for personal use – they are not intended for medical settings. These masks are neither medical devices nor personal protective equipment (also known as PPE). They do provide a physical barrier, but do not provide the air filtration or fluid protection as licensed respirators or masks.

Q: Do these masks help prevent COVID-19 from spreading?
A: Governments and health agencies in different countries have different perspectives. Some believe that face masks worn in public, can help flatten the curve. Others have publicly said that masks do not play a significant role in this effort. When considering whether masks are right for you, we recommend you consult your country’s latest national and regional guidelines.

Q: What material is used in white fabric face masks?
A: The mask is made of 100% white polyester. The material is certified to meet OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 criteria, which means it can be worn directly on skin for an extended period of time. Your mask also includes elastic banding to ensure a secure fit when worn correctly.

Q: Does the elastic banding have any latex in it?
A: No. The banding is latex-free.

Q: I’d like to donate white masks to a hospital or medical facility. How can I do so?
A: We’d recommend that you first contact the facility to ask them whether they are currently accepting donations – if they are, it’s a good idea to ask what specific masks they can accept. It’s important to remember that these masks are designed for personal use outside medical settings. They do not meet the standards set for personal protective equipment (also known as PPE) or medical devices.
